Blues, Brews & BBQ and Wine & All That Jazz, as part of Charleston’s FestivALL lineup, have become summer fixtures for countless people throughout the state. This year’s festivals were no exception. Wonderful weather, plentiful food and beverage, and award-winning music attracted thousands to the University of Charleston lawn. As the Charleston Daily Mail reported, “the gods of summer festivals provided a stellar atmospheric environment.”
Ticket sales for this year’s events surged over $100,000, easily making them the most successful Blues, Brews & BBQ and Wine & All That Jazz festivals ever! By the end of the weekend, Fund for the Arts had raised more than $80,000 to help support Kanawha Valley arts groups.
On behalf of the Fund for the Arts, I would like to thank everyone who helped make a tremendous success of this year’s festivals, which could not have taken place without the support of our generous sponsors and dedicated volunteers. Also deserving of praise are the organizers of FestivALL, who do a wonderful job of promoting these and other events, as well as our local food and beverage vendors who provide a fun family atmosphere for all those in attendance. Last, but certainly not least, we would like to thank those who attended as paying guests – sustaining the Blues, Brews & BBQ and Wine & All That Jazz festivals as two of the most popular summer events in Charleston. We hope to have you back next year!
